Each year, generous donors across Pennsylvania contribute to the PBCC’s Cary Massa Memorial Scholarship Fund which provides financial assistance for those who wish to attend our annual Conference in October. The fund was created in memory of Cary Massa, an active member of the ABC’s support group of Carlisle, who passed away in 2006 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Massa’s family and friends decided to memorialize Cary by offering this opportunity to survivors, caregivers, students and medical professionals.
What donors may not realize is, while their gifts are always appreciated by the PBCC, the effect their generosity has on grant and scholarship recipients is what truly makes the difference. In the week following this year’s conference, letters of thanks and appreciation starting pouring in to our Ephrata office. Here are just a few of the responses we received:
