We need YOU! We’re looking for businesses and other organizations to support the 2012 Conference, a premiere event for the breast cancer community. There are a number of ways that you can come on board to make the 2012 event the best yet! Online registration is now open! Visit pbcc.me/Conference to save your spot for the Tuesday, October 9th conference. Use promo code EARLY to save $20 off your registration!

This year, you have two options for registering for the Conference. You may simply register and attend the inspiring event in October. OR you can register and raise awareness of the PA Breast Cancer Coalition through online fundraising. If you fundraise $75, you will receive a FREE pink PBCC umbrella. If you fundraise $150, you will receive a FREE pink PBCC umbrella and an exclusive PBCC totebag. *Please note: in order to receive the free products, you must raise $75 or $150 in addition to being registered for the Conference at the registration rate. Scholarship applications for the Cary Massa Memorial Scholarship Fund are also available online now. These scholarships cover all or part of the Conference registration cost and are available through the generosity of many donors. Separate travel grants are also available to those who meet certain criteria.

Home Run Derby Website a Fundraising Hit!

With baseball season hitting its stride, preparations for the Take a Swing Against Breast Cancer home run derby are in full swing. The Bethlehem Bombers – a team of young men stepping up to the plate when the derby rolls in to Reading on July 17 – have been using the PBCC’s new Donate to a Team feature to raise money through a personalized website. After exceeding their initial goal of raising $500 for the derby, these guys upped the ante and are now working toward a $2,000 goal! Register now and make a page for your team – or yourself!

Team and individual batter sign ups are open, so register today! Your registration will get you signed up for a day of fun at a ballpark of your choice. Your registration fee covers a batter’s jersey, program, souvenir team photo, gift bag and an experience you won’t soon forget to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.

Did you know that FREE treatment is available for uninsured and underinsured women battling breast or cervical cancer here in Pennsylvania? The PBCC is working to spread the word on this important program to all by offering a FREE online course. Check out our video! Nurses and social workers who take the course can earn free credits. Take the course today!

Those who take the course will have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of this important program, and how it serves as a lifeline for those who are uninsured and underinsured battling breast cancer. As part of the course, you can review real-life case studies and read inspiring stories from survivors who benefitted from the program.

Free Online Course for FREE Treatment Coming Soon

Ensuring that women with breast cancer have access to treatment has been critically important to the PBCC. Through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention and Treatment Program, free treatment is available to uninsured and underinsured women in Pennsylvania. In March, the PBCC will provide a free online course for all interested in learning more about the program, with 2 free credits available to nurses and social workers. Would you or a nurse, social worker, or advocate you know benefit from taking the course?

If you or someone you know may be interested in taking this free course, please let us know! We would love to put you on our list to receive more information once registration is open. While nurses and social workers are eligible to receive credit by taking the course, anyone who would like to learn more about the program and how it can benefit women in Pennsylvania is welcome to enroll.

FrontLine, PBCC’s Print Newsletter: Spring 2011 Edition Online

The Spring 2011 edition of the PBCC’s print newsletter, FrontLine, is now available online! Thanks to Issuu, this newsletter is available to everyone though various websites including Facebook and PABreastCancer.org. Over the next few editions, we will be working to increase online content for FrontLine including videos, photos, and more!

Currently, FrontLine is mailed out to over 57,000 households and businesses across the state quarterly. If you receive FrontLine in the mail and wish to instead receive correspondence from the PBCC electronically, email us! We’ll be happy to make the change.

The PA Breast Cancer Coalition hosts the only statewide breast cancer conference in Pennsylvania every October. Hundreds of attendees participate in this highly acclaimed event which offers a Grand Rounds Plenary Session, educational workshops, exhibit hall and the Pink Ribbon Awards Luncheon!
